Base Formation 433, one full back tucks in to make a back 3 in possession and joins the attack late with overlapping runs. The second fullback joins the CDM to create an overload in the opposition midfield. Kieran Tierney has been a great player when fit for Arsenal, so it is a shame that he is not particularly well suited to tucking into the midfield alongside the CDM, he definitely could however play the defensive full back role who overlaps at a later phase in play though, similar to what Ben White does. Wingers stay wide to drag the opponents low block out of position. Similar to how Pep has set up City to play the past few seasons, so it's no surprise Arteta has taken a similar approach. I see Ten Hag eventually transitioning to a playstyle similar to this, he just hasn't go the correct players to do so yet.
