I thought of that before. If I just were to get say Vidal in as a CDM, the midfield would be perfectly fine. However, since I want to base my CM around the idea that Simeone became their coach, I'd prefer to stick with his signature 4-4-2 system. Berardi will play instead of Perisic (I think he would be perfect for the 'Griezmann role') who in turn will be replaced with Gabigol as the backup option.

That just leaves one of those two midfield spots open for discussion. Since I do really like Barella as a player, and since he's an Interista himself, I'd prefer to get a replacement for Rafinha. It's quite hard to find a realistic, promising left-footed CDM however, so any suggestions would be more then welcome. How about Gabriel from Benfica?

Hahaha, autocorrect, whoops!

I think it would work in-game, but I'd prefer to have a pairing that would also work in real life. Do you have any realistic suggestions on who to replace Rafinha with?

Well Perisic is just in there as I can't add Gabigol and since I'm starting from a point before the whole Icardi saga I guess he wouldn't be a problem. Why would Vrsaljko be unrealistic?

Thanks for your feedback. Do you think the Rafinha-Barella pivot would work, or would that combination be too offensive?

Hey there,

I am planning to do an Inter Career Mode on FIFA 17 soon, based on a scenario where Simeone became their coach during the summer of 2016. Since I'll probably go on for four seasons, I am looking at possible signings to make. For now, this would be the team I have in mind for the fourth season: //sofifa.com/squad/514831

I would like to know from you Interesti whether or not this line up would be a. realistic and b. balanced enough. Perisic will not be in there, but since Gabigol, who'll be my back up RS, is not there anymore, I just put him there to fill up the spot.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot! I also had a look at some tactical videos on Simeone, which together with your input brought me to the following formation: 4-4-2 flat, overlapping backs, wingers who get back on defence, in behind on attack and cut inside to get them more into a LCM/RCM position and for the strikers one classic nine and a false one.

Now, two questions still remain. First of all, I couldn't get a straight answer to whether or not the CDMs both stay back, or one gets a little further up the pitch to take on a playmaking role (like Parejo does for Valencia). Since I was thinking of going for a midfield pivot of Rafinha and Barella, I was wondering if that would be too offensive for a Simeone squad.

Secondly, I'm still looking for some suggestions considering possible players to sign, mainly in defence and on the wings. Got any ideas on who Simeone could or would have signed had he gone to Inter?

Hi there,

I am planning to do an Inter career mode in FIFA 17 on a scenario where Simeone went to Inter back then and would like to ask you Atletico fans some questions since you've had him as your coach for the past years.

First of all, I will be rewatching your matches to get a feel for the tactics, but could you tell me something about your playing style? Do both midfielders play box-to-box or have they got more 'designated roles'? Do the wingers play out wide or inverted? Do you counter press or only start pressing in the final third?

I'd also like to ask whether you would have an idea on the players he'd want to bring in. Any players he really likes or would probably take with him from Atletico?

Thanks in advance!
