Manchester City FC Career Mode: Here is my yearly Man City career mode. The plan is simple, continue our dominance of the EPL (like the last 10 years), finally take that final step in creating our brand by winning the Champions League final, & continue to find young outstanding players who will develop in our system.

- Ultimate difficulty
- Sliders (Matt10)
- All manual controls
- No restarts/simming

Season 1: We started the season out by winning the Community Shield 2-1 v Leicester. We are currently 10 games into the season and are sitting at the top of the table just 1 point ahead of Liverpool. We won our first Carabao Cup game v Everton, and we play Arsenal next. In the Champions League we are 3 games in and have won all 3, putting us at the top of the table.

Man City are known for NOT being a selling club. We don't have too many big names come in and leave, Bernardo, Joao, Zinchenko, Jesus have all been linked at one time or another over the last 3-4 years but have all shown that they are willing to put in the work to stay here. So I doubt there will be many outgoings, except for older players and fringe players who are currently out on loan.

As for transfers in we have a few names we are looking into. City have a great transfer policy and structure. Young players 18-25 who have high potentials and fit our high press play style. The positions we need to look into are:
- back-up GK (Not too sure how Steffen feels spending his best years just being a Cup keeper)
- back-up CB (Ake could go elsewhere to get more time as he is a quality player, but he doesn't have what it takes to break into the XI on a regular basis)
- back-up LB (Walker is 31 and will only keep declining, he can be transitioned to CB later in his career and Cancelo can move over to RB. Zinchenko is a great player, but he could use some competition)
- back-up CDM (Fernandinho is retiring at the end of the season, so hopefully his regen is decent and we grab him, if not we do have Yangel Herrera on loan who is a decent shout, even though City don't bring back players they've loaned)
- back-up CM (depending how McAtee develops we might need another CM to fill in after Kev / Silva come out.
- ST ( we are currently playing in a 433 false 9 with Foden getting the majority of the minutes in the middle. Next season we will shift Foden to the left with Grealish and Sterling to the right with Mahrez. Jesus can transition back to ST but will need somebody else... we all know who)

Season 1 transfer prospects:
1. E. Haaland - ST
2. N. Gonzalez - CM
3. M. Nunes - CM
4. P. Goncalves - RW/CM/CF
5. Bremer - CB
6. C. Nkunku - CM/CAM
7. R. James - RWB/RB
8. R. Gravenberch - CM
9. J. Bellingham - CM
10. L. Thomas - LB
*11. E. Fernandez - CM*
( Can't forget to bring back C. Doyle, T. Doyle, and J. Trafford)

UPDATE:
We are progressing through the season quickly and are on a decent run of games. 17 games in and still sitting at the top of the table (still 1 point ahead of Liverpool). We did have a slight rough patch (2-1 loss to West Ham, 2-2 draw with Villa, and a 1-0 loss to Watford) before getting back on track with a 3-2 victory vs Wolves. As for the Champions League we topped our group with 16 points (5 wins / 1 draw). Club Brugge surprisingly came in second, Leipzig in third, and to everyone's surprise PSG came in dead last. 4 draws and 2 losses. We beat Arsenal in the EFL and will play Swansea City next.

Almost done with December and have a few injuries we've been dealing with. Ruben Dias has a torn ACL and is out for 6 months, and De Bruyne just got injured in our last game v Wolves but I believe it's nothing serious. Our top performing player so far has been Phil Foden. He has been outstanding as our CF. I believe he's top goal scorer in the EPL with 16 goals and has around 5/6 assists.

UPDATE: Just over halfway done with the first season still sitting at the top of the table,, 9 points ahead of Man Utd & Liverpool. We played our second team in our FA Cup opener vs Bristol City, after a Callum Doyle red card in the 23' minute we went on to lose 1-0. We beat United 2-1 & 3-0 in the Carabao Cup semi final and will play Spurs in the final. We will play Benfica in the Round of 16 for the UCL. On transfer deadline day we brought in Ben Godfrey from Everton for around $28m. He'll give us cover at rb & cb.

We played our "B" team vs Spurs in the EFL cup final: Steffen, Godfrey (1st game for us), Dias (recovering from 7 month ACL injury), Ake, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Doyle, Gundogan, Palmer, Jesus, Grealish. We tied 2-2 with goals coming in the 45+1 minute from Jesus, and the 90+3 from Bernardo Silva. We went on to win in a PK shoot out to claim our second trophy of the season. We then played United immediately after this in the league and won 6-0 (our biggest win of the season) and this added to our already large gap at the top. 27 games played (2 in hand) and the table looks like this:
1. Manchester City - 65
2. Manchester United - 56
3. West Ham - 55
4. Liverpool - 52
5. Spurs - 51
6. Chelsea - 49

UPDATE: Played the 1st & 2nd legs v Benfica, and won the tie quite easily. 4-1 first leg and 5-2 second leg (including Liam Delap's first goal of the season!). We will come up against BVB in the quarter finals. In the league we've been in good form, beating Brighton 3-0, Everton 4-2, and drawing Crystal Palace 2-2. I have been looking into other players and looking at the possible exits we might have. Gabriel Jesus has been playing fairly well for us, as has Zinchenko. However, I will listen to any offers I get for them, especially abroad & will look into replacing them. Grimaldo & Darwin Nunez have both caught my eye.

UPDATE: After beating Benfica, we moved onto BVB in the quarter finals, beating them 3-1 on aggregate, and getting a little taste of Haaland (he scored their lone goal). We then came up against Manchester United in the semi finals (Surprise!) We tied 2-2 in the first leg, coming back from 2-0 down at half. In the second leg we absolutely tore them apart winning 3-0. Liverpool beat Atalanta in the semi's 5-0 and we played them in the UCL final. The game did not start out how we wanted at all. We held the ball well and had a few chances, but Liverpool had two break away counters and scored both times with Salah. We should've scored at least once in the first time but De Bruyne pulled his shot wide. The second half saw Thiago score from 25+ out in the 48' minute. We finally scored in the 65' minute with Sterling on a break, cutting in past Matip and scoring underneath Alisson. Then Foden gave us life with a volley from a corner that was headed out in the 71'. Far post, through traffic, and in off the post. We had enough time and a few more clear cut chances but couldn't score and lost 3-2. The EPL ended with us being crowned champions yet again, and the table looking like this:
*1. Manchester City - 90*
2. Manchester United - 77
3. Chelsea - 73
4. Liverpool - 70
5. Spurs - 66
6. West Ham - 64
7. Aston Villa - 57
8. Leicester - 55
We ended the season winning the EPL, Community Shield, & Carabao Cup. Losing early in the FA Cup and in the final of the UCL. This coming season I will be cutting down the size of the squad and making some big changes as we push once more for the European title. Some notable player stats are:
- Ederson - 22 clean sheets
- Gundogan - 14g & 12a
- De Bruyne - 21g & 9a
- B. Silva - 18g & 15a
- Grealish - 11g & 11a
- Sterling - 13g & 11a
- Jesus - 15g & 13a
- Palmer - 12g & 1a
- Mahrez - 27g & 12a
- Foden - 26g & 16a

Salah wo the golden boot with 25 goals in 38 games, while Foden came in 2nd with 24 goals in 29 games. Son beat Foden, Mahrez, & Silva (12,11,11) to the top assist award with 14. Lastly, Ederson won the golden glove with 16 clean sheets. Overall, a good season that I am happy with. I want to push for the Champions League and will go all out for it this year.

SEASON 2022/23:

We have started the season going all out in the transfer market. a few outgoing players have been:
- Zinchenko - PSG - 2 yr loan
- Jesus - Arsenal - swap for Saka
- Mahrez - BVB - $130m
- Palaversa - Stuttgart - $5m
- Harwood Bellis - Wolves - 1 yr loan
- Fernandinho - retired
- Porro - Atletico Madrid - $65m
- Herrera - Atletico Madrid - $28m
- Bustos - Brighton - $9m
- Couto - Betis - 2 yr loan
- Bazunu - Sassuolo- 2 yr loan
- Muric - Watford - 2 yr loan
- Itakura - Lazio - $12m
- Moreno - Cagliari - $5m

Players in:

- Haaland - BVB - $300m
- Enzo Fernandes - Riverplate - $35m
- Mitchell - Palace - $10m
- Rice - West Ham - $85m
----> I decided Rice would be better off at United, so I swapped him for Levitt.
- Tchouameni - Monaco - swap (Levitt +$90m)

We've officially started our season with the Community Shield v Liverpool, which we lost 4-3, also losing Bernardo Silva for 4 months through injury. Haaland came on in the 65' minute and took 2 (yes, two) touches before scoring (a give and go with De Bruyne followed by a perfect through ball). We then moved onto the EPL and started the season out with 2 wins in 2 games (3-0 v West Ham & 5-2 v Leicester). The Haaland saga is off to a great start. He scored 1 v West Ham on a counter and had a hattrick v Leicester (tap in, volley, strong run through a crowded box and a low powerful shot).

- Current team ratings
- Ederson - 91
- Walker - 86
- Dias - 90 (missed 7 months in s1)
- Laporte - 89
- Cancelo - 90
- Rodri - 90
- De Bruyne - 92
- Gundogan - 87
- Sterling - 89
- Haaland - 91
- Foden - 88

UPDATE: We are currently 15 games into the second season and still unbeaten. We are on absolute fire. Haaland is top scorer in the league with 20 goals in 15 games. We topped our Champions League group...

1. City - 13
2. Sevilla - 12
3. Marsielle - 7
4. Dynamo Kyiv - 3

... and are into the knockout stage of the competition. We have made a few more changes to the squad, Sending Tchouameni to Roma and swapping Bernardo Silva for FDJ at Barca. I might try and bring Kalvin Phillips in and possibly let Enzo Fernandes head out as well.

We are halfway through January and still sitting at the top of the table. We have 56 points while Liverpool are right behind us with 51. We have yet to lose a game as well. We have had quite some business in the transfer market. Our big ones would be swapping Bernardo Silva + $120m for FDJ. I did this early on in the season and came to regret this, went to Barca to try and swap them back and saw that somehow Bernardo only had 6 months left on his contract, so we just signed him on a pre contract for next season lol. I got rid of Tchouameni and brought Kalvin Phillips in (swapped Matheus Nunes for him). Sold Ben Godfrey to Leipzig for $40m, Steffen to Espanyol for $25m and will replace them with Gusto, a rb from Lyon for $15m, and a YA gk 65 rated. I have some leftover cash and I will use it + T. Mitchell to grab Cucurella. My players ratings are through the roof and we are having quite a season, 1st in EPL, topped our UCL group, just lost to United in the semi finals of the FA cup, and have the second leg of the Carabao cup semi v Liverpool coming up. Haaland is the EPL top scorer with 27 goals in 21 games. HOWEVER, he just injured his shoulder and will be out for 2 months. Julian Alvarez has been a great step in and I think we'll be just fine till Erling is back.

Our current team ratings are:
Ederson - 92
Walker - 87
Dias - 92
Laporte - 89
Cancelo - 90
Rodri - 91
De Bruyne - 92
Gundogan - 89
Sterling - 89
Haaland - 92
Foden - 90
FDJ - 90
Phillips - 84
Stones - 86
Ake - 82
Cucurella - 84
Fernandez - 80
Saka - 84
Alvarez - 83
Grealish - 86
Palmer - 75
Delap - 71
McAtee - 69
T. Doyle - 70
C. Doyle - 66

The more I think about it, my midfield is too crowded, and I think I will either send FDJ back to Barca or somewhere in the EPL..... We beat Liverpool 2-0 in the second leg of the Carabao cup semis and will face the winner of Chelsea and Wycombe (they beat United last round).

We went on to beat Chelsea to the Carabao Cup for a second year in a row. We also won the league and have 1 game left (currently still undefeated and on 99 points). This will be my first season ever to go without a single loss. We made it to the final of the UCL after beating Real Madrid (4-3 aggregate), Sporting (4-2 aggregate), and AC Milan (3-2 aggregate). We will play PSG and hopefully get our first ever Champions League trophy. We sent FDJ to Man U as he is close in real life life, as well as Raheem Sterling to Chelsea.

We finally won the Champions League! We were able to beat PSG 4-3 to win our first ever UCL. We even came from behind 3-1 to win with a late penalty. We ended our season undefeated in the Premier League with 102 points, we won the Carabao cup v Chelsea and the Champions League. I am very happy with how things ended and we will progress onto season 3 with some improvements in mind.

Season 2023/24:
We have made some changes in the transfer window (as well as we have quite some money saved up that we can use to send players to other teams as we see fit). We brought Zinchenko back from his loan at PSG and will plan to use him as before, backup LB and backup in midfield.
Ortega - gk - Bielefeld
Cucurella - lb - Brighton
Torres - cb - Napoli
Mahrez - rw - BVB
