EDIT: added and removed a couple of players, wouldn't make this many signings, just included many of the options
Chelsea really needs a complete re-work to redeem themselves, crazy spending has further ruined our reputation. A move towards smarter signings and removing the deadwood is desperately needed for the club image and to balance the books.
SIGNINGS:
Emphasis on cheaper, underrated players to round off the squad following the Hollywood signings.
- TONEY in from Brentford, very rounded and clinical striker who would probably want a step up in club (and wages). Chelsea always chase big no.9 signings that have virtually all failed, a prem-proven player like Toney should be where we look to break the curse. Not saying he's anywhere near as good, but echoes of drogba - late bloomer, strong, clinical, smart, hold-up play and great skill with back to goal.
- DEWSBURY-HALL from Leicester if not for an insane fee, with their current position should be easier to buy players, they got their insane fees for Maguire, Chilwell etc. when they were competing for champions league. Smart and hard-working player.
- PALHINHA from Fulham, can't really say he'd want a step up too much when fulham are above us lol but can't help but feel like he'd want to play for a bigger club, beast of a destroyer which would allow the CMs to do their thing, especially a CAM like mount in a mid 3. Also prem-proven.
- SKHIRI on a free, very underrated, amazing interceptions and initiating counters
- TAPSOBA as the Thiago Silva successor, smart and progressive centre back, will fight with Fofana if he's not injured to be main centre back.
- J. GREAVES from Hull, should be very cheap as Chelsea signings go, promising young centre back, probably loaned to lower prem club for a season or two.
- WALKER-PETERS from Southampton, especially given their likelihood of relegation should be a no-brainer signing, rounded, prem-proven fullback, can fill in left and right back.
- LAFONT from Nantes, great shot-stopper, think he's gna be the next big thing, heavy rotation with Kepa
SALES:
The current squad is far too big with underperformers/quality players just not suited to the club or even league.
- LUKAKU - obviously
- HAVERTZ - definitely would not mind keeping him, has had to play everywhere, normally out of position, but don't really see a place for him in a 433, and would be best to sell him early whilst he keeps the value/his contract is still there. going back to germany he could maybe be the new muller for bayern, win-win for both parties.
- ZIYECH - also good player but seems set on leaving, quite uninterested on the pitch and sometimes amazing vision but sometimes very predictable. a club like Milan would really want him, PSG also interested.
- AUBAMAYENG - no words needed, could be good somewhere else but not for Chelsea
- PULISIC - mainly because he's so injury-prone, could get a decent fee and there are too many wingers ahead of him atm even though he can be very good
- KANTE - love him, Chelsea legend, but also very injury-prone now, and for someone with a game so based on physical ability (not that he isn't a very good passer) don't see him performing at the top much longer
- GALLAGHER - probably not at the Chelsea level, maybe he'll prove me wrong. Would get a big fee (e.g. from Everton). going back to crystal palace with Viera would be another win-win.
- CHALOBAH - would not mind keeping as well, but also not at Chelsea level imo, looks very shakey in 1on1s especially, another player who would give a decent fee, as young english players always do.
- AZPI - great servant to the club, should be given a hero's exit and probably play a decent couple of seasons in spain before retirement.
- MENDY - had an amazing stretch of form but that seems very far away now and he is quite error-prone and lacking with his feet. still an amazing shot-stopper and dominant goalkeeper who a lot of clubs would want.
- KOULIBALY - still has time to redeem himself but i think the best option would be to sell him while we still can and focus on the development of other players, has seemed very out of place and is on huge wages.
- BROJA - most controversial sale, definitely has a lot of promise but potentially a bit too head-down for me, amazing at getting in behind and his speed and shooting are quality but in a possession-based side, or more modern football in general it's harder for players like him. I'm 50/50 on this one, but the sale for him could definitely be huge and for both the finances and image of the club I think a big sale like this would be important. milan one club allegedly interested.
