This  is my opinion on how I think united should line up this season. I personally feel this formation would be very good for the squad we have right now as all the players we use on the wings are naturally more central players (Martial = ST, Rashford = ST, Mkhitaryan = CAM, Mata = CAM and even Lingard was always a CAM when younger but Ill agree is probably better on the wings than centrally) And I also feel that this formation will allow us to use Valencia and Shaw to their full potentials attacking down the flanks. For the first time in a long time I feel this formation is even more viable though as for once we are actually spoiled for choice at the CB spot and with the resurgence of herrera he provides cover for our midfield and also for our fullbacks if they get caught too high up the pitch, he also passes the ball forward well, which means when he wins back possession he is good at starting counter attacks. I think also with Herrerra in the holding role pogba and mata have the freedom to play their games the way they want too, we saw at juve that in this position/formation, with protection behind him pogba played his best football and I also feel in the game against leicester at the start of the season when we played 433 with a midfield trio of herrera with pogba and mata in front of him we played some of our best football and I also feel Mata will benefit from this postion as he is not a wide player as such although he has been doing well there since he joined united he is better at CAM or in this formation just off the CAM position with a slight bit more freedom than the CAM and than pogba. Obviously mkhitaryan at CAM is his best and most effective position and I think he would compliment ibra and martial well as he and martial can both play off ibra using their pace and goalscoring ability which will take the goal scoring burden off of ibra alone. I would play martial slightly off Ibra as I feel he always performed better when playing upfront rather than on the left and playing witth ibra consistently will help him learn how to turn into a good striker. also i feel a partnership of Ibra and martial would be perfect as ibra has the height, strenth aggression and martial has the pace close control and skills and both have good finishing ability i think they would be a deadly partnership. again this is just my opinion leave feedback and tell me what you think and other suggestions and ideas that you have. (I also think playing a 433 with the same GK DEF AND MID as this team and a front three of martial,ibra mkhitaryan would be good but not as effective as this formation up here for reasons i have explained.)
