DESCRIPTION
The defensive flanks alternate between Fullback and Wingback. Reece James and Cucurella are the main pairing, with Cucurella tucking in to form a back 3 and James pushing forward to provide attacking threat. Azpilicueta and Chilwell do the same from opposite flanks. This allows Thiago Silva to play his preferred CB role in a back 3 as opposed to a back two.
Kante plays his typical role, with Kovacic and Mount ahead of him. Kovacic sits deeper, linking the defense from the attack, while Mount presses forward, even interchanging with Ziyech on the right wing. Ziyech plays as an Advanced playmaker, and sterling makes darting runs through the defense. Nkunku and Havertz are the two marauding CFs, with Nkunku's pace and power, and Havertz's passing and positioning.
Broja should be sold if this is the style. Pulisic, Auba, and Jorginho should be sold as well, as injuries, age, depth, and/or plain ineffectiveness have decimated their times at Stamford bridge.
