Saints guide for realistic CM:
Club history:
Having only won 1 major trophy (FA Cup) in their history, Southampton are a side best known for their youth academy. Some of the best who were trained at the Staplewood Campus and its predecessors include Alan Shearer, Matt Le Tissier, Gareth Bale, Wayne Bridge, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Ward-Prowse.
The Saints were promoted to the PL in the 2011/12 season and survived 10 seasons with highlights including qualification for the Europa League in the 2015/16 season with a 6th-placed finish under Ronald Koeman, Sadio Mané scoring the fast PL hat-trick, Shane Long scoring the fastest ever PL goal and Claude Puel guiding the Saints to the EFL Cup final in 2017. Since then an array of poor managerial appointments and failed transfers have led to a steady decline. In January 2022 Sport Republic took over Southampton, redesigned their strategy and subsequently got them relegated. Now in the Championship, the goal is to get them back to the Premier League and eventually challenging for European competition.

- Aim for 50% academy players in the starting XI
- Try and integrate the youth players already in the game into your first team (Meghoma, Dibling, Amo-Ameyaw, Ballard, Lawrence etc).
Bonus challenge: Russell Martin career:
- Minimum 55% possession per game
- (4-3-3 holding) Use inverted fullbacks set to join the attack, CDM set to drop between defenders, both wingers on cut inside and a false-9.
