RZAIM24 Project summary :
A new sporting directory has arrived in Zaragoza to put this mythical La Liga club back in its rightful place : first division.
Pablo Aimar has been chosen as the new head coach in order to make Zaragoza a kind of "Spanish Brighton" with very smart recruitment.
As a Valencia CF legend, he also knows Zaragoza very well, having played 56 games there between 2006 and 2008. A real nod to the past because we remember that Pablo Aimar already arrived in Zaragoza at that time as a player for 11M€ as part of a new and very ambitious project.
He was then followed by great talents such as d'Alessandro, Gerard Piqué or Carlos Diogo.
Apart from the loan spells of Badia, Mouriño, Valera, Mollejo and the free signing of Quentin Lecoeuche, we are therefore cancelling the transfer window actually carried out by the former management at the beginning of the game and we are setting up our new project instead.
Ander Herrera and Jesus Vallejo are coming home and the team is mainly built around them.
We will keep the safe bets that have come out of the academy such as Francés, Francho and Iván Azón on whom we are counting a lot and will also give playing time to the young talents of the cantera such as Borge, Cortés, Liso or Sans.
Peque is our rising star from Santander who will have the opportunity to shine in our team and Prpić will be a very good complement to the rotation in central defence, which will allow us to prepare for the future.
The two non-EU player places allowed in Laliga Hypermotion will be reserved for Mouriño and Fukui.
Several very young promises will complete the core of the team such as Aznou, Susoho, Diogo Sousa and Rózga and those who play the least can be loaned out later and will have a chance to come back to fight for a place in the following seasons.
The winter transfer window will mainly be used to sell unwanted players such as Amador, Lluís López, Fran Gámez, Jaume Grau, or Carlos Nieto, all of whom are aging or not talented enough.
The money raised will be used to increase the transfer budget to permanently buy Mouriño and Mollejo from Atlético at the end of the season.
Sales in the January transfer window :
- Jair Amador, Carlos Nieto, Jaume Grau
(Undesirable players)
- Cristian Álvarez, Fran Gámez
(Player request)
Replacements* :
- Alejandro Iturbe : Atlético Madrid
(2 years loan + 1,6M€ option)
- Daniel Budesca : Villarreal (800 K€)
Loan spell in the January window :
- Pablo Cortés : Levante
- Pau Sans : Granada
* Mario Soriano, recruited on the last day of the transfer window to compensate for the serious injury of Germán Valera, sent back to Madrid.
