AS Roma starting eleven in the 2023-2024 season
Abraham returned after his ACL injury vs Lazio (6th April) and he's likely to be ahead of Azmoun in the rotations, with the Iranian striker with an injury, who's going to keep him out for at least a month. We could also see a variation of the starting XI with two strikers (Abraham and Lukaku) with a CAM behind (Dybala).
Angelino and Spinazzola fight eachother every week for the starting left-back role, they rotate many times between UEL and Serie A, but Angelino is in a better form, which means he's slightly ahead of Spinazzola.
Smalling came back from his injury in September, but with other minor muscolar injuries he has become a great backup for Mancini and Llorente (who's been very solid all season). Mancini on the other end is too important to even think to relegate him to the bench.
As of now M. Svilar is the starting GK in the team (Said by De Rossi as well in PR). Rui Patricio has been very inconsistent from the past year and a half, and a new manager meant a new choice between the sticks.
The right-back role is disappointing this season, The three of them are inconsistent, but recently with the injuries of both Kristensen and Karsdorp, Celik is the starting RB as he put up a really good performance against Brighton and other Serie A teams as well.
Meanwhile for the most important players we have obviously Dybala on the right, without him Roma always struggles to create chances. The midfield is as good as it gets, Paredes in the DM role is very underrated and makes crucial work in defense and offense. Pellegrini is the more attacking of the 3, the captain with De Rossi has reborn with very good performances all around. Last but not least we have Cristante who balances between attack and defence, a physichal player like him in that potitions helps him win a lot of duels. And El Shaarawy on the left is not a goalscorer as many could think. The ex-wonderkid is a starting XI player for obviously the threat he brings in attack, but also because of his excellent work when it comes to defending.
