After Falling out of Favor at Real Madrid. Gareth Bale has been linked with many a clubs. from a move to China. a move back to the PL with Manchester United, and Former club Spurs heavily linked. and a unlikely move to the States. but he instead decided upon signing for AS Monaco. a side who recently sacked Footballing Icon Thierry Henry, after what must be seen as a poor season. finishing 17th just 2 points away from Relegation, The 2016-17 season saw Monaco lift there 8th Ligue 1 Championship, and just 2 years after that triumph, there was a threat of relegation. Monaco hired Henry's replacement, a young 28 year old. Argentine Manager Juan Cardozo, who had proved him self in South America winning both the Argentine Premier League and Brazilian League respectfully. his first order of business was to bring in the Welsh superstar. and with a budget beloved to be in the region of £132m to recuperate the squad. there was no problem. Agreeing a fee of £83m with Madrid and Bale agreeing to a £300,000 a week contract.

In a recent Press Conference the Welshman was tasked with answering several questions. the biggest of which included why he would move to a club in such despair when he could be playing with the likes of Harry Kane, or Paul Pogba in the Premier League. Bale calmly answered he wanted a challenge. he wanted to prove himself to the footballing world who labelled him as a "failed galactico" at his time in Spain. and he felt helping a team who have had such a fall in a short space of time was the right challenge. Cardozo, also picked up the signings of Defensive Midfielder Thiago Mendes and Experienced Attacker Hatem Ben Afra signings that he said will be valued late in the season. when the schedule gets so busy.
