For years now, Arsenal haven't been living up to those expectations the club has on itself and all its fans and not fans as well. They've been fighting to even stay over the top 10 mark in EPL a few seasons now. That's mainly because of the lack of inspiration, tactics, buying wrong players etc. Now a new era starts with Haiselthorn as the new manager. He's been managing smaller clubs in England before with success but this comes as a surprise for many. A club like Arsenal is bringing in a 27 years old manager! But maybe this is exactly what Arsenal needs. A young, hungry manager who strives for big goals.
Haiselthorn has only been in the club for about a month but already got rid of Ozil, Lacazette, Bellerin and Sokratis. Players he saw as either too bad or who would not fit his type of playstyle.
It's notable that haiselthorn likes young talented players that wants something with their careers. He has bought Upamecano which is an upcoming superstar. He's strong, a good tackler and a beast in the air. He's also brought in Aouar. One of the best offensive midfielders in Ligue 1 with great vision and ball control. Next player is Partey who for a long time played for Atleti but now wanted another adventure. A world class defensive midfielder that really can lift a whole team by himself, like Kanté. The last player Heiselthorn brought in for 19/20 season is Dumfries. He's exactly what David looks for in the build up/psychical play. Airwise his a total beast, rarely lose a single combat-battle.
This year Arsenal aim for the top 4 spot. I think they have the team to do it.
If we start with the GK Leno is world class, but hasn't had much help from his defenders since he came here. I'm sure he will play really good.
As LB we have Tierney. A rising star who took a couple of steps last season and I would be surprised if he isn't Haiselthorn's first options over Kolasinac, all though Kolasinac is a beast that I think Haiselthorn likes a lot.
The CB's I think Haisel will start with Upamecano who will grow in to a beast in EPL and David Luiz/Mustafi for experience. They know the game. I'm sure they can help each other. Next season Saliba comes back from loan and hopefully he can start playing with Upamecano then and become the new back 2's.
As RB we have Dumfries as a real beast and the promising Maitland-Niles to play if Dumfries get injured or needs to rest which he rarely has too.. Maitland will probably be loaned out after a while.
As LM/LW we have to very, very promising ballers. Saka and Martinelli. They both have proven that they can play in EPL but are any of them ready for the starting 11? It seems like Haiselthorn has plans on playing either of them this year and not buy someone else, more proven player. This is very interesting, but at the same time a bit risky.
Haiselthorn will probably play with 2 sitting midfielders and one offensive as nr 10. It will be Partey and Torreira most probably with Xhaka as a bench player and Aouar or Ceballos as nr 10.
As RM/RW we have Pépé that's one of the stars in the team. A good baller, that's extremely fast and agile and also has some finishing touch as well. Could be a real superstar in near future. To back him up we have Nelson, which isn't that proven in EPL. I think Haisel would have wanted more depth for sure on the right side of the wing.
As ST we have the biggest star in the club. Auba. He's the one who have saved the Gunners a few seasons now from finishing even further down the table. He's extremely fast, good finisher... A absolute world class striker. Under 25 goals in EPL next season would surprise me a lot. Pretty old now, but still has a few years left in him. In Arsenal? I don't know. Will stay for one more season at least though. On the bench we have Nketiah that I think will have his break-through this season...
