Decided to do a Career Mode with Milan since I haven't played Fifa in a while and I want to improve the club's situation from the one in real life.
I decided to play a 4-4-2 that focuses on high pressing and overloading offensive areas.
In terms of transfers, I am looking for value in unwanted players at big clubs, and players that might have faded away in smaller clubs but still offer large value to my style of football.
Erik Lamela is my first signing, brought in for 19 million Euros (his value in-game was 21). I've decided to convert him to a CF and capitalize on his good defensive stats and his work rates. I think his tenacity fits my style and him being only a squad player at Spurs made him an ideal target.
My second transfer in was Simone Verdi. He was brought in for 4.5 Million Euros + Rade Krunic, who didn't fit into my team. Verdi has been converted to a RW and will compete with Saelemaekers for the starting spot. He will most likely play as an impact sub, however, because Saele is a good presser. Verdi is also an ex Milan player which sweetens the deal because I've always wondered what he'd be like for us.
Third Signing is Berardi. He is also being converted to a CF similar to Lamela. They will rotate in the squad depending on who we're playing and what I think we need in that given game. He arrived for 34 million Euro's plus Mandzukic, whom on paper fit our style, but he is too similar to Zlatan and thus is surplus to requirements.
Players out are Hakan and Castillejo. Hakan went to Real Madrid (lmao as if) and Castillejo went to Sevilla which is actually pretty realistic imo.
Zlatan is retiring at the end of the season, so I will try to sign Belotti at the start of the second season to replace him Bazoer is a target of mine to replace Kjaer, eventually. He has some similar attributes and his passing stats reflect what Kjaers should be imo.
I'll also be looking for bossman deals from other Serie A clubs to provide depth. My targets are Hysaj from Napoli, assuming nobody signs him, D'ambrosio from Inter for his versatility, and Lucas Vazquez from Real Madrid. I know Vazquez isn't a Serie A footballer but he is pretty much what I hope Saelemaekers will develop into and so he can come in as an experienced player to guide the squad.
