Fossati, Borevković, Anello, Lovrenčić & Simić are gone from my understanding. Going to miss Fossati but he’s getting older, he’s had some good showings in the club. Borevković was too inconsistent on the team, which is why we generally felt so relieved when Ferro came back. Anello felt underwhelming in some parts of the season, in the cup final he should have finished the ball for instance when Pukštas went down… we scored the penalty anyway though. I feel as though Mlakar played Anello’s position better than Anello did, and we saw a Sahiti masterclass this season in the other wing except for the period he of course had been injured. (Because Leko forced Sahiti to play everywhere due to having no reinforcements 🫢) it had been a pleasure watching Anello dribble through people though 🤌🏻. Simić played alright, he didn’t get too much playing time, but the same can be said for all except maybe Awaziem. Our center backs got shuffled around too much. Lovrenčić was great last year, even at an older age he continued to play big for us when it mattered, putting his experience on display. However we now have Sigur in his position, and he will probably make a big career, as Croatia generally lacks wing-backs. I also do not believe Grgić or Kalik have any spot on the team and should probably be sold, especially if the Hajduk transfer rumors come true. Even if said rumors do not come true, Grgić would come on to hold the midfield at the very least, and would act as a substitution for Benrahou, Pukštas or Krovinović. However I imagine Benrahou getting a whole lot of playing time next season.
