I feel bad saying this but…. 83/83 he’s just not the best anymore

De Jong only plays "good" when we play with our best XI in their best form against a team that doesn't press. Never drops a 10/10 or even a 9 when the team plays a bad game, gotta be one of the worst players but everybody is afraid to say that. Not saying that he's a bad player or that he must go but he's not world class and he definitely doesn't deserve to be a starter next season.

I don’t see how arsenal aren’t in for him apart from the price tag. 70m would be a risk but if we got rid of partey (who I personally think is overrated) and deadwood like bellerin and Pepe, it would make sense to try and get him while he’s willing to join. That's what I'm always saying about him. I like the way he plays, he definitely has the potential to be one of the best midfielders from the future generation, but he HAS to start delivering in big matches, where it all actually matters. A lot of people don't agree with this take though, already proclaiming him to be the best midfielder in LaLiga and stuff. Have patience guys, he will definitely get better with time, but till then please stop pinning unrealistic tags on such young players. And this is not just about FdJ (if you think that oh he is a Madrid fan obv he's gonna hate on him), this is about every youngster that we hype as soon as they start performing to a good level. Let them develop in peace, let go of the 'already world class' labels, because you're basically setting them up for failure with such high expectations. Hope I don't get misjudged as a hater...

Why is it wrong? If someone performs really well in i poor league should they have the same potential as someone in a better league? Im sure theres many younsters playing well in the romanian 2nd division, but they dont deserve 91 potential, so the quality of the league clearly matters. How can we know Pedri is better, when we dont know how pedri would perform in a stronger league, and vise versa, how well could Greenwood perform in La Liga?
