Something about Balogun's attitude makes me think he will improve enormously over the next couple of years and make it at the top level. He's got that combination of self-belief and humility. Whilst everyone was watching films and sleeping on the plane ride over to the U.S, he was reading a book on performance psychology. The problem for us is that right now Balogun is below average with his back to goal -- which is a big issue for a Mikel Arteta striker. The same was true of Nketiah a few years ago, but within a year and a half of coaching Arteta had moulded him into a pretty well-rounded striker. I have no doubt Arteta could do the same with Balogun, who has a higher ceiling than Nketiah. But we don't have a year and a half to wait for Balogun when we are competing for the league, and Balogun won't want to wait that long when he's already capable of playing at a high level in a different system. It makes sense for all parties for him to leave. I just hope we get a good deal to compensate losing such a talented Hale End player, maybe of around £40M.
