The difference is that majority of us have grown up on seeing Man Utd achieve success and so it wouldn't really be new. Arsenal haven't won a title since 2004 when I was born, and they still bang on about the Invincibles, they still bang on about how they won the league at White Hart Lane and wherever else, still go on about Sol fucking Judas Campbell. We get that much shit from the red side of North London where it is deep rooted hatred that both sides of North London have grown up with and no matter what Arsenal fans say, they will always do the same thing as us if the roles were reversed. They would plead to throw the game to stop Spurs. I have said this a million times but this is an extremely similar situation. In 2019 Arsenal fans all said they would get battered by Chelsea in the Europa League final if it meant that Spurs lost the UCL final. Arsenal fans would give up their first piece of European silverware to stop Spurs from winning the UCL which is fair and this is a very similar scenario. UCL>UEL and Prem title>>>>>Top 4 (coz you don't get a trophy for top 4). If we did get UCL we would most likely get knocked out of the groups and go down to Europa League or maybe reach the round of 16 and get knocked out anyway. Majority of us Spurs fans all have said way before the City match going back to last year that we are not too fussed about top 4 because we would have a better chance of winning the Europa League and we are starving for a trophy. Also because the money we would get from top 4 would not go towards signings. Levy has used huge amounts of revenue and season profits and money from our place in the table on paying off stadium debts due to us not getting top 4 year in, year out since 2019. Due to this Poch never really got his signings, we went a whole season making zero signings, Mourinho wanted Skriniar and got Joe Rodon, Conte wanted Bastoni or De Vrij and got Lenglet on loan. The only reason Ange got his signings is because Levy compromised and said that the Kane money will fund this window so that whole summer transfer window was based off the Kane money and a little extra that Levy put in. It goes both ways, my Spurs mates have all said we will 100% take losing to City and missing top 4 just to stick it to Arsenal mates and Arsenal family members all have said that if the roles were reversed then they would do the exact same things as us just to stop Spurs from winning anything and then they cited the 2019 UCL and UEL final that they all said they would lose to stop Spurs winning.
