Im from Mexico. I chose them for a realistic CM in FIFA 20. After I saw they got back in the prem I started watching every match. I fell in love with the club and I trust we can stay in the league.

There is a lot of hate for this guy right now, and while I don't necessarily think it's all justified, it is also hard to say he has lived up to the hype generated around him. The problem with Rodri is that he doesn't fit Pep's system, because ideally he needs to be paired with another defensive midfielder. When he was paired with Partey at Atletico Madrid, he was able to be more destructive because the extra CDM could cover him if he got caught out of position. Pep, however, wants to play with one linking CDM as the anchor and two forward-thinking CM/CAMs, though he has often had to adapt the team shape to make up for Rodri's perceived shortcomings by playing a 4-2-3-1, linking him with Gundogan or Fernandinho, which in turn takes away from their attacking presence. Also, ostensibly he was brought in to replace Fernandinho, but seeing as he can't necessarily fill the role Pep wants him too without tweaking the lineup to adjust to his style of play, I think some people are left feeling bitter toward him. It is a shame, because he is a good player in the right shape, but I'm not sure he is really the right type of player to succeed under Pep.
