It’s gotta be Haaland regardless. What he’s done this season both in the prem and the champions league has never been accomplished by anyone.
avatar
Everyone but Arsenal/City imo. I think they’ll perform to a similar level as they have done now. But I see them having hard go of it with the other Top 6 or even Top 10 teams being significantly better next season. Baring in mind Ten Haag, Howe, Emery and De Zerbi will be much more comfortable with their squads by then
avatar
If there was ever any doubt, mbappe is miles clear of Henry but that's not to discredit Henry, mbappe will surpass Messi.
avatar
Proper work horse Liverpool should be all over him and bellingham to solve their lack of depth in midfield
avatar
imo not deserved. Actually deserved it by winning the WC but the ACTUAL Young player of the tournament was Gvardiol.
avatar
So overrated. He’s only just come out of Argentina to play football in Portugal. Nowhere near a decent standard of football.
avatar
Gvardiol >>> Argentina defence
avatar
Never seen a player get so cuddled after such a performance. Wasnt just the messi goal. Practically just sat and watched alvarez get in behind for the penalty and didnt even get back for the counter. I dont care if he had a good tournament this is the worst performance of the world cup even before the messi goal.
avatar
50/50 It is just 90 min with 11 men vs 11 men
avatar
half of what you are saying isn't relevant to my comment. why you talking about other games? he was great vs iran and quiet vs wales and usa. he is also joint top scorer, with rashford playing a lot less minutes. that is all.
avatar
I think Arteta is a mediocre manager and he'll do poorly again this season, and the club's board and Edu aren't really competent, and they think Arteta has a good project and they keep trusting his "process" when clearly the team almost didn't develop tactically in almost 3 years of him there, besides some good games or sequences last season and at the start of this season, they gave him like 400M to spend and an entire new team and he hasn't shown almost anything thus far. So I think it would be better for Douglas Luiz to wait until January, or the end of the season, and wait for other offers and evaluate better where he'll go
avatar
But I think he should think more about what team he'll go, and wait for more offers that could be more interesting than Arsenal, it's much better than making a rushed decision and joining a team on deadline day
avatar
Well, not completely wrong, but I doubt that he would start for a team like Atleti or Barca. He would need to proof himself first, after such a long injury as well. Hope he performs for Wolves this season atleast. Arsenal doesn't deserve him.
avatar
If we don't sign anyone in midfield we are going to have problems. I like Xhaka, but he remains a limited and irregular player. And the problem is that if we don't bring in a high-level challenger, the position of 8 is going to be very weak and we won't have a solution. The position of 8 has been a priority since December, if no one comes the problem will still not be solved after 2 transfer windows, which is a big failure. We need an 8, no one must leave to bring this player, it's imperative
avatar
As Tomi doesn't possess typical FB qualities either I'd go with White now.
avatar
No way Zinchenko and Jesus went from winning the Premier League and playing the champions league final to a team whose always 4th place or below Lmaoo talk about a massive downgrade
avatar
if he loved his country so much , he would help the military with his millions and would go to the front lines to protect it, but he loves the city of manchester so much that's why he cries and doesn't go to his "beloved" UKRAINE
avatar
A midfielder that we didn't need and a striker who scored 8 PL goals last season, we need more to catch Chelsea and Spurs
avatar
The signings we are making are exciting, but I can't help but feel we had other priorities. For £200 mil (reported budget) I would have signed: GK: David Raya (£20 mil) RB: Lutsharel Geertruida (£20 mil) LB: Marc Cucurella (£30 mil) CDM: Ibrahim Sangaré (£30 mil) CM: Youri Tielemans (£25 mil) LW: Coady Gakpo (£35 mil) ST: Gianluca Scamacca (£40 mil)
avatar
Makes no sense for him to go to Arsenal, I see him more at inter or Ac Milan , atletico madrid those are better options for him and for Arsenal I feel like sigining Calvert Lewin or Ivan Toney makes more sense
avatar
Son is bigger than this club
avatar
Because I want to champ. Make your own list, put whoever the fuck you want in it
avatar
He had a good back half of the season but 5 and a half seasons of poor performances cannot be forgotten about We need to move on
avatar
Bigger then Tottenhan but you should remember that you're not AC Milan, Barca Liverpool, Utd, Bayern etc level and you're Fans are annoying for thinking so
avatar
Imagine celebrating Eddie Nketiah's contract renewal like this. Glad to know we are that far away from being england's clown club.
avatar
I love the impression of us being proactive on the market, but for me it looks like a complete mess and it's more of a concern than excitement. I'm definitely no Arteta so where I see mess he could see his liquid football getting established, and I bet he does so it's okay. Still, It's a strange feeling that incoming players raise more questions in me rather than answering uncertainties.
avatar
Renato ain't cdm
avatar
nah this is disrespectfull. Giving the 14 to what should be a rotation player. Makes me scared we won't sign another striker
avatar
An aging veteran? You're talking about Perisic like he's some finished 40 year old, he was one of the best left wingbacks ITW last year, also what does Bissouma being able to be convicted of assault have to do with the quality of the signing? Does him being able to be convicted of assault make him a less good player? If he's innocent then he's still Bissouma. Don't act like Arsenal weren't chasing him for the past 2 seasons. Spence isn't good enough though, I agree with you but you can make anything sound terrible if you oversimplify. I can say you're signing some unknown Liga NOS player who didn't even start most of the games for Porto but that'd be a stupid thing to say and wouldn't be fair to him in the slightest. I was just bantering a bit as he seems like he's a quality player but Arsenal, or really anyone in the Prem didn't know who he was a week ago and that's completely fine, you guys signed an unknown gem. Also most of us believe we'll finish 3rd or 4th, no one is saying we'll be title contenders unless they're joking
avatar
Genuinely don’t understand the fascination with this guy
avatar
Nothing against Arsenal but this team just seems like a collection of good but mostly not great young talents. It's like they are just hoping that some of these will explode into stardom but it's hard to imagine this team perform well without any veteran leaders. Y'all keep stacking young players even when their abilities don't look like they are needed on the team. Like, are you signing Vieira cause you're giving up on Odegard or what? And what's the point of signing Lisandro Martinez when you are already starting with Gabriel, White and Tomiyasu? Are you gonna play him at CDM? Then I guess this is also what happens when you have money to spend but you can't attract more proven players. I just feel like a more balanced team with some veterans could work much better.
avatar
When Viera takes Saka's spot, Saka can move to LB.
avatar
Rip career
avatar
Nah not us, wouldn't start.
avatar
On the rise? You bottled 4th, Europa settings, United will overtake you, Newcastle are coming for you, Villa have strengthened, Leicester have no Europe this season. The best you can hope for is 6th maybe even 7th.... About "On ThE rIsE"....
avatar
Starting 11 a striker a midfielder(preferably an 8) cost ~100m Depth a left back a centre back a right back a versatile midfielder 2 wingers cost ~100m(with some smart recruitment) Selling Bellerin Holding Pepe Leno Torreira Xhaka Bringing in ~70m Net spend ~130m(which should be our transfer budget this summer)

upvote for Richarlison downvote for Gabriel Jesus
avatar
A cross is only good if there’s someone on the end of it. Otherwise the player is just an idiot
avatar
Tierney and brilliant passes in the same sentence? For me sometimes he crosses because he doesn't know what to do in the last third. He lacks vision and tactical awareness to understand what is happening in the penalty area
avatar
Who is that?
avatar
Brilliant dive
avatar
He isn’t good enough. Tomiyasu or Saliba is the better Partner for White. Gabriel is a elephant in a china shop.
avatar
We watch football.
avatar
I think everyone here saw that White is the subtle one, and Gabriel the "muscle" of our defence. This "change" of attitude comes mostly from the fact that by now the sample size is big enough for most of us to evaluate, as most of ppl here (me included) dont watch much outside the PL
avatar
Thats a bit too harsh, and coachable I think. So far hes decent, Id even say "good enough", but that dont mean we cant do better.
avatar
“How he heavily relies on xhaka” Thank you mon frere for seeing the light. You cannot be a top Center back if you can’t play in a high line with both full backs flying forward. Every time he’s been put in that situation he buckles and can’t even shift his weight. A truck is more agile.
avatar
If the price is right, sure, why not, hes been good, but we could do better. But I dont think it should be, like, we actively want to sell him, like hes a flop or sth. Hes been good, but he raised a few red flags already, I think he relies on his physicality too much, and loses his head sometimes, leaving us open. Ive seen several times now, how heavily he relies on Xhaka to complement his positional deficiencies. I like him. Think hes a good CB with a physical profile. Just think we could do better with a player that can do both physical and positional. In a sense, hes like ~2015/2016 Holding for me. Want to keep him, but if the price is right, ok to sell and buy a potentially (and hopefully) better replacement.
avatar
That's one way of looking at it. Here's another. Arsenal FC, in a season without Europe, should absolutely be aiming at finish in a CL spot. We shouldn't be lowering our standards. We were saying we wouldn't even be in a top4 battle cus (on paper) we didn't have a fantastic summer when the talks were going on back then and that our performance in 20/21 was quite poor. CL spot finish is a must, this is real progress, real opportunity to attract top players. We're simply now where we should have been earlier, competing for top4.
avatar
Seemed like he was worried more about his hair today than the match. Saw him fixing his hair instead of stepping his opponent and sure enough thiago lays an easy ball to jota for a goal. Maybe start esr on rainy days next time
avatar
next roskiciky
avatar
Thought on Goncalo Ramos in back up ST ?
avatar
Unpopular not to rate him but he ghosts in big games and statpads against FC Poopensharten in the most stacked team in the planet in the least competetive league in the planet. Would genuinely expect him to get 10 goals a season in our team. Even if you do rate him, he doesn't fit our system and is too old to build around (See Messi and Ronaldo for why you shouldn't sign huge names that don't fit just for the sake of it)
avatar
I dont like any of the forwards arsenal are being linked to, that 5 that keeps coming up, if we get top 4 I'd like to see us target Richarlison, Raphinha and Gnarby.
avatar
Lets not get ahead of ourselves with the comparisons, these guys play in much weaker teams, I was thinking of Richarlison as a no. 9, Martinelli just doesnt look like a CF at the moment and Raphinha could clearly start on left wing, Saka is decent at best, he needs to lift his game and join the world class
avatar
Maybe 84 for partey, he's been better recently but overall his time here has been a little underwhelming.
avatar
Nah he isn’t a winger lol
avatar
My favorite excuses for Artetas lack of good results: 1) Referee 2) Rebuild 3) Young squad 4) Toxic players 5) Board's fault

Current Premiere League managers who are either better or more proven than Arteta: Klopp, Guardiola, Tuchel, Rangnick, Conte, Rodgers, Moyes, Hasenhüttl, Lage, Potter, Hodgson, Howe, Dyche, Smith, Bielsa, Frank Managers who still has to fully prove their worth but don't look any worse than Arteta: Gerrard, Lampard and Vieira
