He played really well, and should be praised, but people are getting carried away with some of the comparisons...he also had a bad lapse in judgement at the end which could have cost us the match. He has a lot of potential, but it remains to be seen whether he will fulfill it. He's clearly not Maldini, who was already starting for one of Italy's best sides ever and the legendary Milan side in his early 20s. People were also praising De Sciglio against Mexico in 2013, and Darmian against England in 2014 (and they turned out to be a decent players, Darmian in particular, but not the next Tassotti or Cabrini), so I prefer to remain cautious. Still a good performance and result, especially on his competitive/tournament debut, and if he has the right mentality and luck with avoiding injuries, he can really be special, which is good, as we needed someone promising to replace Bonucci and Chiellini at the back eventually.
