These ratings are a joke. Mexico hasn’t beaten the US in 5 years, but still has several players rated higher despite them playing in much smaller leagues and clearly not being as good as many of our current top players. Also how is Folarin Balogun not in the squad he’s been a regular for almost a year now.

With Tyler out, I really hope Johnny gets a proper chance at CDM. I love Tyler and he is our leader, but he needs to prove he can stay on the field before we build a midfield around him. As far as I'm concerned, Weston and Gio are the foundation, and the starting #6 is wide open. Curious to see Lenny and Aidan Morris too. For the record, even if Tyler is half fit, I still want him on a World Cup roster as captain, but Johnny is becoming an upper-tier CDM in La Liga and that can't be ignored.

I won't lie there are some weird selections (Tim Tillman, Moore as the 2RB when you have Dejuan Jones and Reynolds, and I also think Slonina should've been the 3rd GK instead of Johnson) but this isn't a terrible squad. At least the team isn't 1/3 of MLS players like it was during the 2022 World Cup.

Johnson will never see the field though considering he's the 3rd keeper, but like I said with Shaq, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he somehow, for whatever reason, started. Lennard Maloney also definitely deserved a shout for this roster, it's pretty unfortunate he didn't make it.

Ever since Usa missed the 2018 WC they have focused on the youth and sending players abroad and it’s now paying off The thing with Mexico is we’ve never had a process like that nor does the federation plan on doing so, it’s literally all about money. Their is also corruption with the club “America“ and the national team. It’s why the striker we started is starting over Gimenez who plays in Europe, our manager stated the U.S has several players in Europe yet he benches the striker that plays in Europe…Starting a 5’10 striker who plays in Liga MX vs starting a 6’1 striker who plays in Europe is a really big difference. When Gimenez came on their was actually a striker presence, he was winning aerial duels and making runs, what’s that for when he got subbed on in when we were losing 2-0. Tillman/Dest were born on US military bases which as far as I’m concerned is US soil. Cardoso was born in New Jersey which is also US soil. Reyna was born in England because his Dad was an EPL player, both parents represented the US in soccer, and we’re both born in the US, he never technically had eligibility for England. Keep in mind, all US players are US Citizens/have US passports. US Citizenship is NOT something they just hand out here, these guys were all born in situations where they had that right
