Absolute sheer snobbery to leave out Jack Butland for the sole reason that he doesn't play in England. We'd be out of Europe and no where near a title race never mind being first place without him. Southgate has shown once again to his young players, if you want to play for England, you HAVE to stay in England unless you're as good as Jude Bellingham
avatar
Tbh, really happy with Branthwaite getting called up, believe he could really start with Stones in the summer, hope he impresses. Glad Konsa and Gomez have a chance too. Dissapointing with Henderson but always knew it would happen, just glad he's got rid of Phillips. Would've maybe liked to have seen Mainoo or RLC instead. https://s3a.sofifa.net/298a864f1a08e09f5896563685b59f305f0d034b.png
avatar
stop getting fooled by serie a. rlc still aint good enough but he takes a step down and suddenly looks like hes instantly fulfilled his potential? i bet you think magic is real too
avatar
Henderson and Rashford are disappointments but I’m really happy to see Branthwaite, Gomez, Konsa, Gordon, Palmer, Toney get selected!
avatar
Nice finish by Alvarez and the pace he had on the break for a CDM is impressive. These are the players we need to keep and build a team on but with FFP here to keep the top 6 rich clubs in the top 6 it's not gonna happen. Top 6 can spend billions while FFP sits in a chair drinking tea. But holy fucking lord should we spend £200 on some goal nets and FFP is sniffing around our asses like a horny dog.
avatar
got talked up so much because they played good football in a shit year for the championship lol
avatar
When your club is more famous for player signing announcements than for actually doing something with them…
avatar
Idk why people thought Burnley was gonna stay in the prem - Vincent Kompany was terrible at Anderlecht. I suppose given time he could deliver something better, but all he does is help Burnley stay relevant now Sean Dyche's gone

Ikr ☠ fumbled hard

Firstly, no one is biased, no one is "just watching stats". If Rashford your best attacker, then it says a lot about MU's problem today. From the most successful club in England to "we are okay, we got spanked hard by City and Rashford put mediocre performance throughout this season scoring 1 goal per 3–4 months". He is not your biggest problem, but he is still part of the problem. Secondly I have seen MU throughout Fergie prime era until today, I don't watch every single game, but I know it too well to the point it is depressing to see if this is the mentality and standard for MU fans nowadays especially for young fans. Veteran MU fans would be furious to even see you defending Rashford and this standard. If you are a real fan, then you should be furious by this standard instead of defending him. Rashford had more than 1 bad season, not just with Ragnick, don't lie to yourself there pal. Even the last controversy where Rashford didn't join the training but ended up partying, if that is the mentality you are trying to defend then safe to say future MU is finished.
avatar
Yep, scored 1 good goal then disappear for the next 3–4 months or even more.
avatar
Agreed. Rashford can’t be relied on
avatar
Garnacho has the excuse of being 19 years old. We shouldn't have to rely on a kid. The 26 year old in his prime should be the one we rely on.
avatar
The question is, would they actually want him now? I mean based on this seasons performance why would PSG even want to sign him?
avatar
Garnacho is still a young kid learning his trade. Marcus is literally a veteran at this stage in his prime he should be leading this team but instead chooses to sulk. PSG incoming please take him away from us he's made for that farmers league it's time to part ways
avatar
The fact is that unless we offload players we won’t be able to make a lot of signings in the summer. The base will need to be Hojlund, Garnacho, Mainoo + Youth academy players. So yeah build around them and as you say make intelligent signings around them if we are able. As far as the staff go, Ratcliffe has already started that issuing several positions already. The staff side of things will be sorted for the beginning of next season and then I guess we see what happens and judge it when the foundations are in place.

I think the whole club needs to clean house. Management, manager, and the players that won't fight for the badge. Start new, make a new project for a long run is the best thing MU can do right now imho before it is too late. It will tough and long process, I doubt it will be 3 years like Ratcliffe said because it is too ambitious. It is better to clean slate than trying to fix some players because even the best manager won't be able to do that. I also think Ten Hag is not your guy for this, especially after he spent a lot of money but gets nothing and players he bought mostly flopped than do any good. Need a manager that can work with decent budget and can improve players like Garnacho or Mainoo. It doesn't have to be mass spend imho, just great scouting would do wonders now more than ever. I mean look at Brighton's scouting is top-notch. With the market today, it is hard to get a proven/class player below 50m or 60m. Just spend wisely on the right player, low risk, and you get more budget to spend elsewhere. Spending 100m on 1 player will do harm than good, imho.
avatar
It is still a long way to go though anything can happen. It is good for us Spurs, but as a football fan that was jarring to see once the biggest club in England has fallen hard. Especially I grew up watching Fergie as the manager, it is just a contrast display. Past MU would have spanked today's MU hard.
avatar
After 1 worldie he was like "Yeah that's it, my job is done here" for the rest of the game.
avatar
We don’t want him
avatar
As united fans we all hope so too
avatar
should thank ten hag for helping him fraud a 350k a week contract
avatar
Ten hag has nothing to do with contract negotiations. The club are horrendous. Giving mega contract even Sancho is on like 350k a week. The big contracted players will all be shipped out soon.
avatar
nah, he doesnt give the effort
avatar
disagree
avatar
More like - few good games, several bad, few good games, several bad.
avatar
I would drive him there personally.

Loved watching how wild celebrations were just before it got ruled out 😂 https://twitter.com/Football__Tweet/status/1712745224760414269?s=19

the coolest thing was taking motherwell all the way to the champions league fight in career mode. it takes time, but it's pretty awesome to pull off.
avatar
Watched this boy play twice against us and had looked really good, would never have guessed he is so young by his performance Motherwell fans how good can he go on to be ? I’d love him at rangers but thinking he is going straight to the epl whenever Motherwell sell him on
avatar
We competed against a good team I'm still proud of the boys, now we can focus on winning the league and cup
avatar
You weren't that great I'll give you that lol Di Maria isn't anything special he wasted the ball too much over the 2 legs
avatar
Forgot to mention how many goal opportunities he wastes away and how he makes our attack slow down just to accomodate his dancing.
avatar
Di Maria is doing to Benfica this season what Ronaldo has been doing to Portugal the last few years.. We play much better without them, as a team…
avatar
Good game Best team won, hopefully we meet in CL next season 👍
avatar
Then stfu. You just admited you don't much and only support kokcu without even know how he is doing. He has a good game every 4 games and its always against weak teams. And he clearly doesnt suit the team. He is talented but lazy. Not enough work from him.
avatar
Na he's right where he belongs
avatar
He just keeps getting better, it's sad that he's 32 I'm gonna miss this guy when he's gone
avatar
This guy is an anomaly.

hes a big gers fan
avatar
he’s fully try harding and I love it
avatar
I totally agree, we should have beat Benfica 3 times in a row now that's not a fluke, but there's always a lack of concentration and some stupid mistake that costs us. Even when we tried sitting off Celtic we got pumped so really the solution was saying goodbye to Ange and Beale, hello to Brenda and Philipp and the tides are starting to turn lol
avatar
Thought ye made Benfica look like a very average side (which they’re not) for most of the game. Even against us, I always think Rangers are at their most effective when ye sit into a compact mid block off the ball and look to counter. Ye looked solid the other night and very tough to break down in the 4-4-2 block off the ball. Had similarities to Gerrard’s side who used drop into a narrow Christmas tree formation and flood the centre of the pitch off the ball. I never mind when I see a Rangers team come out and press us, as we have the ability to play through it…has happened the last few years vs the Covid season where we ended up passing from from goalkeeper to centre back with no outlet…ye looked very solid the last night, Benfica couldn’t build out effectively or get any sort of rhythm going for the majority of the game.
avatar
The way Benfica's playing, you won’t have too hard of a time. Toulouse outplayed us completely in the earlier round…
avatar
The goat no denail about it
avatar
Made Garnacho his son
avatar
If only he could play LB, will be hard to get a first team place over Trippier
avatar
Didnt realize he come from chelsea
avatar
howe need to play hall and livramento as CMs in same match
avatar
78/85 and if he’s not in the team of the week then that’s an injustice!
avatar
It's sad he's in competition with Burn and Trippier because he really deserves gametime, if it wasn't for that injury he would have been one of the best young full backs in the world right now
avatar
Always been a great player but I only realised this season that his dribbling is amazing he should have higher dribbling I ain't joking
avatar
As a United fan, his confidence will become greater with Poch's trust and coaching. Responsibility in pen duties over a senior like Sterling adds to his confidence. He has the right tools to succeed as a winger or number 10. At City he was picking up minutes not consistently due to level of world class talent ahead. At Chelsea, with the confidence of playing every week, he can have the mindset that he could soon become the main man in the Chelsea team. He is 21 year old too with so much room for growth.
