So this is how I think we should play from this point on. Due to injuries to Bona De Sciglio and many others, Montella's first choice team isn't available. However i think we can still utilize players in our team that are fit to kill this slip before it gets out of control.
As you can see I'd have us line up in a 3-4-3 style with two trequartista behind the striker similar to how Montella lined up his Fiorentina and Sampdoria sides. The entirety of the middle four would essentially be a box to box unit. My selection for the wing backs is strictly based off pace.Some of the best wing backs have been quite quick and what each of the lacks in defensive or offensive quality they make up in their ability to bomb up and down the pitch. Vang isn't exceptionally good on defense and Abate is lackluster offensively. Both the inner players are very box to box and that's all that is needed. Bertolacci was chosen because he has experience playing in this type of role and tactic whilst he was at Genoa; where he played his best season. The front triad is meant for interlapping runs and good hold up play up top. Sadly Curtone isn't on fifa yet so i've put bacca there in his place. This is because Curtone stands at 6'1" roughly; making him the tallest of all our strikers and therefore the biggest presence. This would allow the treq's freedom to move around him while he hold up the ball or plays one two's. As for the back line, i'd preffer to have Gomez as i think he's a much better defender than Zapata. But, Zapata is faster, simply put. And in a back three you 100% need a faster CB to help cover space incase people are played in behind.
